Llubí: villas, village life and area guide
Explore our guide to Llubí and its villas, set among capers, windmills and almond-carob fields. Sant Feliu, the Tuesday market and Es Pla roads.
Stay in Llubí for a composed base in central Mallorca, where capers, windmills and almond and carob farmland frame a lived-in village. From Sant Feliu to Son Ramis and Es Racons, days run between market shopping and quiet roads.
Llubí
Llubí is a small inland municipality in Mallorca’s Pla de Mallorca, centred on the village of the same name. Its gently uneven terrain rises around the Torrent d’Aumadrà and opens onto dry-farmed country of almond and carob trees. Capers remain the place’s most recognisable agricultural product, with a long local preserving tradition.
The village has the measured scale of an inhabited rural town rather than a resort: the parish church of Sant Feliu, old stone crosses and flour-mill towers give its streets a clear sense of continuity. Beyond the core, the historic Son Ramis quarter merges into the town, while small roads lead to agricultural land, the Sant Crist hermitage, Vinagrella and the Talaiotic remains at Es Racons. It is a composed base for experiencing central Mallorca’s working landscape, seasonal food and village life.

Staying here
A stay in Llubí suits travellers who value space, privacy and a central rural setting over immediate beach access. Llubí village is the practical choice for couples and food-focused stays, with a compact centre, a Tuesday market and a notably strong dining scene for a town of its size. The surrounding countryside and the historic Son Ramis side of the village work well for families and groups wanting quieter days, while walkers and cyclists can use minor roads between fields, mills and neighbouring Pla villages.
Golfers will need to leave the municipality for coastal courses, and all beach days are outside Llubí; Playa de Muro on the north coast is a natural option. A car is the sensible arrangement, particularly for country properties, archaeological sites and coastal plans, although Llubí has a railway connection for a village visit. Spring and autumn are the most comfortable periods for longer walks and cycling; summer demands attention to heat and sun exposure.
The trade-off is straightforward: this is an inland farming municipality, not a coastal resort. Amenities are purposeful rather than extensive, and reservations are advisable for the leading restaurants. In return, days can follow the pace of market shopping, local cooking, village streets and the open agricultural landscape.
Towns, villages and coast
- Llubí — The municipality’s principal village, with the parish church, market square, town hall, cafés and most everyday services. It stands between two low promontories crossed by the Torrent d’Aumadrà.
- Son Ramis — A historic quarter now joined to Llubí village along Carrer de Santa Margalida. Its older façades, Creu de Son Ramis and Molí d’en Serra give it a distinctly historic character.
- Vinagrella — A rural possession in the Llubí municipal term, noted by the council for its defensive tower, cellar and chapel. It is countryside rather than a separate visitor village; access should be treated respectfully and checked locally.
- Es Racons — The rural area on the Sineu side of Llubí where the Talaiots des Racons stand beside the road. It is associated with the municipality’s prehistoric landscape.
